Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I know it has been a while since I last blogged, but before I catch you up on all the craziness that has been going on in our life, I wanted to wish you all a happy Valentine’s Day and tell you a little about our day of love.

This year I decided to do a little something special for my Hubby.  Usually he is in charge of Valentine’s day and plans the entire thing, but this year was different.

I decided to surprise him with 14 days of Valentine’s starting on February 1st and ending today.  I think this honestly was just as much fun for me to plan and give each little surprise as it was for him to receive them.  Each day he received a little gift, nothing costly, but something little , sometimes cheesy, but a special gift nonetheless.

Day 1

February 1st Jeremy woke up to his first little gift.  He received a small box of goldfish with a note that said “If I had to pick from all the fish in the sea you still would be the only fishy for me”.  It may be cheesy, but it was the perfect afternoon snack!

Day 2

Jeremy woke up to his favorite drink with a note that said “I “soda” love you!”.

Cheesy I know, but oh so much fun!

Day 3

Day 3 was a pack of gum with a sign that said “A little birdie told me that you are looking for a Valentine.  How about you “chews” me…”

Day 4

For day 4 I made my hubby little pom-pom creatures with our boys’ names on them.  Attached to their feet was a note telling him how much I love how he loves our little Valentine Monsters!

Day 5

For Valentine’s Day Reese’s put out Reese’s hearts.  Oh my they are so yummy, the perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter, and they just happen to be my Hubby’s favorite chocolate treat.  Day 5 he received Reese’s hearts with a note that said “I heart you”.

Day 6

Day 6 was a bit cheesy, but isn’t Valentine’s Day all about the cheese? I wanted him to have something fun that he could entertain himself with, there is nothing better than bouncy balls! I simply put the bouncy balls in a sandwich bag and stapled a topper to them that said “You make my heart bounce”.

Day 7

I think day 7 was one of my favorites.  This morning he received a mini Nerf gun with a note that said “Howdy partner, what are the chances I have a “shot” at being your Valentine?” We seriously have had so much fun with this little gun.  I should have bought myself one too so I would have something to defend myself with!

Day 8

Day 8 I snuck out to our favorite little bakery in town and picked up my Hubby’s favorite cupcake.  To the cupcake box I attached a note that said “Have a great day “cupcake”!”

Day 9

Day 9 was very special and a little bit of a splurge.  This morning my hubby received Dove truffles.  These are sinfully delicious.  To the box I attached a note that read “It’s a treat being your Valentine!”

Day 10

I do not have any pictures of day 10 because it was a little different.  I actually sent my hubby a  text message inviting him on a date.  I already had childcare lined up and everything!

Last year we spent Valentine’s Day eating pizza outside the Colosseum in Rome and touring the Colosseum and Roman Forum, it honestly doesn’t get much better than that.  This year we decided to go out for pizza to reminisce about our Valentine’s Day last year and then we went to see the new movie The Vow.  It was such a great Valentine’s movie and such a fun night with my love!

Day 11

Day 11 was a small heart shaped container full of M&Ms.  It had a note attached to it that said “I love you more than Chocolate (and that’s a lot)”.

Day 12

For day 12 I found this great mug with a chalkboard heart on it.  It was so cute.  Well trust me, writing on this thing was way easy said then done! Please ignore my handwriting, I know it looks like a 5 year old, but writing on this mug was challenging!

Inside I the mug I placed individual strips of paper with 10 things I love about Jeremy on them.  Bad handwriting or not, my Hubby was reminded how much I love him!

Day 13

Day 13 was a coupon book full of 5 coupons Jeremy can redeem at any point in time.  Some of the coupons are for a homemade dinner of his choice, a dinner out (my treat), or even a pass on nightly baby duty! A pass on baby duty is huge around this house!

Day 14

On Valentine’s day Jeremy came home to 6 pink and red balloons.  Attached to the balloons was one of my favorite memories from our 6 years of marriage (1 balloon for every year we have been married).

I just wanted to take a moment and remind him how much I love him and look back at a few of the amazing memories we have together.

Valentine’s Day we also did a few other fun things.  Because Jeremy and I had a chance to go out and celebrate over the weekend, we decided to plan a fun family night with our parents.  We made homemade individual heart shaped pizzas and red velvet cake.

Each person got their very own pizza. They were all so unique and delicious!!

We honestly had so much fun spending the evening with our family, making dinner together, and enjoying each other’s company.

It was wonderful to get to celebrate the boys’ first Valentine’s Day together!

I think the boys especially loved all the extra attention! There is a lot of love for these precious boys from their 4 grandparents!

They also enjoyed getting to play with all the balloons! They would hold on to them as tight as they could and shake them up and down then look very confused when a balloon whacked them in the head.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and were able to steal away a few moments to tell that special someone just how much they mean to you.

Jeremy, the boys and I are immensely blessed by all of the amazing friends and family we have in our life.  We really couldn’t have asked for a better Valentine’s Day!
