Today I received this lovely pink package in the mail! I honestly have been looking forward to this all month! It’s a birchbox!
What is a birchbox? A birchbox is a small package you receive each month containing 4-5 hand-picked samples (based on your beauty profile) across beauty categories. You will receive some samples from luxe lines and some from smaller niche companies. Birchbox requires a monthly subscription fee of $10/month and once you have registered you can complete your beauty profile so that your birchbox will be tailored for you.
I originally heard about birchbox from a bloggy friend. I loved the idea of receiving something special and girly just for me in the mail each month. I thought it would be a great treat and something I could look forward to. Birchbox offers both yearly and monthly subscriptions so I figured for $10 why not try it out.
I sure am glad I did! Once I received notification that I could register (there is a waiting list and I waited about 6 weeks to receive notification that a subscription was available) I immediately signed up and anxiously awaited my first birchbox which finally arrived today!
I placed my birchbox on the table and waited until I put the boys down for a nap so that I could sit and enjoy opening my box without grabby little hands confiscating my new goodies.
I received my box in this great pink packaging! It’s already fun and girly!
Once I opened the shipping box I was greeted by my birchbox!
I opened the box to find a welcome card and hot-pink tissue paper hiding my goodies.
Once I peeled back the tissue paper I could finally see what is inside. I loved all the small touches they put into the box. I like that everything isn’t thrown into a shipping box but instead it is tucked nicely into an extra special box. I really am all about the little touches and I think that is part of what makes this box so special.
Most of the items were wrapped in tissue paper and tied with a bow. It really was girly overload (which I happen to love) and made you feel like someone put a little extra special attention into this box just for you.
My box contained a large skincare sampler from Befine. This included a lush night cream and moisturizer duo as well as an exfoliating cleanser made with brown sugar, sweet almond and oats.
The next few items were sweetly packaged in the tissue paper and tied with a ribbon. The first was nail lacquer from Color Club in a very fun neon pink color. The second was a sample of Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy perfeume. It smells divine! It is described as a hint of wild berries with mandarin and soft floral notes creating a fragrance that’s fun and happy. If I had money to splurge one any item this would be on my splurge list (retails for $89 full size)!
The last thing I received in my tissue paper bundle was ShowStoppers designer fashion tape. These are double-sided tape strips that can be used to ensure your outfit stays perfectly in place. These might come in handy this summer with summer dresses.
Underneath the tissue paper bundle was tucked this little gem. This is June Jacobs perfect pumpkin enzyme scrub that retails for $60 full size (3.8oz). It smells delicious and I cannot wait to try it tonight! This scrub is used to whisk away dead skin on your face and body using a potent pumpkin enzyme. It seriously smells good enough to eat!
I am really excited to try out each of my samples. Most of these are things that would not normally fit in our budget, but through birchbox I am able to try a few splurge products.
If you are interested in looking into birchbox you can check them out here (this is in no way a paid post, just something fun I thought I would share with everyone).
I am already looking forward to next month’s box! For now I think I will go paint my toe-nails with my new neon-pink polish!
