Happy Birthday Boys!

I cannot believe that a year ago today was the first time I met my boys and had the opportunity to become a mommy.

We prayed for these boys for so long and they have blessed us more than we ever could have imagined.  I can’t imagine what our life would be like without them or loving someone more than we love these precious two.

I feel blessed each day to just have the opportunity to be their mommy and I still don’t understand why God chose to bless me in such a huge way.  This year has gone by all too quickly, but I look forward to all the adventures to come!

My precious Ian,

I cannot believe it was a year ago today that you entered my life.  You literally flipped my world upside down.  I couldn’t believe how much I immediately fell in love with you.  You had huge blue eyes and a ton of hair! You entered this world full of energy and wanted everyone to know you were here.  You haven’t slowed down since the day you were born.

Your goal has been to conquer the world before you turned one.  You are outgoing and hate to be slowed down because you are too little to do things, so you learn quickly and never stop.  You started rolling at only a few months old and crawling was not too far behind at 7 ½ months old.  Once you had crawling down you jumped right to walking at around 11 months old and learned to climb before you completely mastered walking.  I have to watch you closely, if I turn my back for even a second you have pushed a toy up to the gate or coffee table and started trying to climb on it.  Your brother loves to help you and often holds your toy still so it won’t move as you climb.

You are a man of few words and many noises! You now say Mama all the time and occasionally say Dada, but you express yourself in many squeaks and squeals and love to sick at the top of your lungs.  Your favorite place to sing is in the car and you love the high notes that make your voice crack.  Your daddy and I sit in the front seat of the car and giggle and smile while we listen to you sing in the backseat.  My favorite moments are when you feel the need to start singing in the middle of a restaurant or the grocery store.  I think your songs are the most beautiful thing in the world so I just let you sing until your little heart is content.

You have filled our home with more laughter and giggles than I can count! All I have to do is look at you and smile really big and you start to laugh.  You love to be tickled, and even though you are Mr. Independent you love it when your mommy holds you.  You think Ziggy is hilarious and love to chase her around the house and shack her toys in her face.  You also think your brother is pretty silly.  I cannot tell you how many morning I have woken up to hear your giggles over the baby monitor only to find that you and your brother are being silly with each other.

Ian I can’t remember life before you and cannot imagine life without you.  You bring so much joy and laughter to our family.  I feel blessed every morning just to have the opportunity to be your mommy.  I love you more than words could ever express and look forward to watching you grow and discover the world around you more and more.  I already know that God has big plans for your amazing life.  He created you and will use you in mighty ways.

I love you my “little man”! Happy first birthday!

My sweet Noah,

It seems like your first year has flown by.  Never once did I imagine that I could love someone so deeply and completely upon meeting them as I did you the day you were born.  You were not very happy to be pulled out of your dark comfortable home, but we couldn’t have been more excited to meet you! You were quieter than your brother upon your entrance into this world and have continued to be the quieter brother, but when you want to be heard you make sure you are loud enough for all to hear!

You have always been full of smiles! You started smiling when you were just a few months old and haven’t stopped since.  I have never met a happier baby! Everything makes you smile or dance and you find joy in the smallest things.  We constantly marvel over the things you find hilarious, but then we sit down and laugh right along with you.  You have never met an occasion that didn’t call for dancing! You could dance for anyone in any situation.

You love to play with your brother and wrestle with your daddy! I think your daddy may be your favorite person in the world! We use to joke when you were little that your daddy was your pacifier, all he had to do was enter the room and everything was immediately right in your world.  I am so excited to get to be a part of all the adventures and fun you and your daddy have together.

You are so laid back and hardly ever get upset.  You just take life as it comes full of smiles and laughter.  You also take time to snuggle and hug people.  I love that you will sit in my lap and let me read you a book, or you will sit still long enough to snuggle with me.  You are definitely a snuggly affectionate little man.

Even though you are a little quieter than your brother you are still a talker and have learned so many words.  You can now say mama, dada, baba, bubu, nana, and nini which means no no when you don’t like something.  You also love to yell, not upset or angry yell, but yell for the fun of yelling!  I actually love your yelling and think it is a great way for you to let everyone know you are there! You usually do it with a big smile on your face followed by a sweet Noah giggle.

You love to chuckle, not only full on belly laugh, but chuckle when you think something is funny but not funny enough for a full laugh.  I adore your baby chuckle! You chuckle at everything and everyone I think it is your way of telling them how much you love them.

Noah, you have brought more joy and smile to our home than I ever could have imagined.  My heart feels more whole now that you are here and you are such a blessing each and every day.  I can’t remember what life was like before you were here, but I would never want to imagine life without you.  You add so much life, fun and silliness to our family. I feel blessed just to have the opportunity to be your mommy and watch you grow.  I know God has amazing plans for your life and will use you in big, mighty ways for His kingdom.

Happy first birthday my precious “Noah Bear”! I love you so much!
