Activity 3/100: Basket Ball

Often times I find myself caught up in the tasks of raising three very small boys.  I reach the end  of the day and wonder if I was truly intentional as a mom.  Although I play with my boys hugging and kissing them many times a day I also am distracted by whoever is fussing, needing to eat or drink or changing one of the three adorable tushies still in diapers.  This year I decided to challenge myself to plan 100 different activities to do with my boys.  These can be small or big activities, but many of them involve items found around the house.  I am looking forward to a year of focused play with my boys.

This activity was extremely easy and involved no mess.  The boys had a lot of fun, but enjoyed pushing each other around in the basket more than actually throwing the balls into it.

Items needed:

  1. Laundry basket
  2. Several balls
  3. Two very energetic toddlers

For this activity you simply place the basket across the room and toss the balls into it, dump them out and repeat.  Easy, fun, mess free and entertaining.

They threw the balls into the basket for about 5 minutes and then Ian took off with it!

Noah was not having that so he decided to take the basket back!

So he sat in it so Ian couldn’t run off with it…

Which just meant Ian had to join in the fun…but apparently it’s a little squishy in the laundry basket for two toddlers and a ball.

I think they had fun with this activity because they really like to put things into baskets or buckets and then dump it all out.
