Activity 30/100: Squishy Baff

Often times I find myself caught up in the tasks of raising three very small boys.  I reach the end  of the day and wonder if I was truly intentional as a mom.  Although I play with my boys hugging and kissing them many times a day I also am distracted by whoever is fussing, needing to eat or drink or changing one of the three adorable tushies still in diapers.  This year I decided to challenge myself to plan 100 different activities to do with my boys.  These can be small or big activities, but many of them involve items found around the house.  I am looking forward to a year of focused play with my boys.

This was a fantastically messy , fun activity!

I picked this stuff up on the end-cap at Walmart.  It looked like fun so I thought we would try it.

You start by filling the tub (or a kiddie pool outside) with water, then you add the designated powder packet into the water and stir.

Let the mixture sit for 5 mins and it will turn into this squishy gel like substance.

Then place your little ones in the tub and let them play!

I was surprised at how congealed the water became.  I have to admit, I kinda wanted to jump in the tub with the boys.  This stuff was awesome!

Once you are done playing with the squishy stuff there is another powder packet that you pour onto the mixture in the tub and it is suppose to turn back to liquid.

The mixture did turn more liquidy, but not completely back to water.  I had to scrape some of the gel remnants out of the tub so it wouldn’t clog the drain.

The boys had the best time playing in this stuff! We are planning on filling a kiddie pool with the Squishy Baff for part the boys’ 2nd birthday party.  It should be a lot of fun!
